1. Lebanon Hills Campground (Eagan, MN)
Driving distance from Minneapolis: 21 miles, 30 minutes
Nestled within Lebanon Hills Regional Park, this popular spot is a must-visit if you’re looking to stay somewhat local and have more of a traditional camping experience. The campground is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of woods and lakes with wooded hiking trails, scenic canoe and kayak routes, as well as a public beach.

Another nearby campsite just outside the metro area, Ham Lake Campground is a perfect location to take the kids for their first camping experience. There are tons of family fun activities throughout the summer, including theme weekends with kids’ games, candy bar bingo, and even a petting zoo!

Two Rivers has over 200 sites and tons of outdoor activities, including fishing, swimming in their 2,000 sq. ft pool, and inner tubing down the Platte River Valley. And for those that can’t “unplug” or go off the grid completely, free WiFi is available in the lodge and in most campsites.
