It’s Spring Break, Twin Cities! For those of you planning to staycation in the Twin Cities, there are plenty of activities to choose from right in our own backyard.
1. American Girl Fun
Bring your sweet tooth (and your daughter!) to the Mall of America’s American Girl store to celebrate the world of Grace, American Girl’s 2015 Girl of the Year. Girls ages 8 and up will enjoy decorating cookies and the bakery box to bring them home. Select Saturdays at 9:00 in March and April, reservations required.
2. Sid the Science Kid
The Super-Duper Exhibit, now at the Minnesota Children’s Museum. Bring your children down and immerse them for a day in Sid’s world! Spend a day as a scientist and don’t forget to look for the Special Imagination Corner dates where Sid will make an appearance – bring your camera!
3. Super Heros
Join the Steppingstone Theater in St. Paul and learn everything you need to know about succeeding as a super hero! Each day brings a new skill, from creating the perfect super suit to harnessing your own magical powers. All super heroes, ages Kindergarten through 5th grade, are invited to attend these all day workshops.
4. Spring Break Family Days
Vacation back in time at the Minnesota History Center and meet some of Minnesota history’s most interesting people! Just because the kids are on break doesn’t mean they can’t learn something new. Various performances, multiple hands on exhibits and a daily kids craft will keep everyone busy having fun.
5. Take a Walk
If the weather is nice, everyone will enjoy the outdoors! The Linden Hills neighborhood is a Twin Cities favorite for strolling, shopping and grabbing a treat. Take the kids for a muffin at the Great Harvest Bakery or out for ice cream at Sebastian Joe’s! And, don’t forget Tail Time at the Wild Rumpus, every Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Spring Break will be over before you know it, which means summer break is just around the corner!
